Blue Dog started over 5 years ago with the goal of creating a professional and accountable dog walking company. We provide your dog with daily exercise in a safe and healthy environment.  All of our walks are on-leash and in small packs of three or fewer dogs. We believe that you should be given peace of mind when your pup leaves the house each day; that is why we use PetCheck, an all-in-one tool to schedule and track your dog's walks. Real time email notifications are sent every time your dog is picked up and dropped off and you can peruse the GPS-tracked map to determine where your dog went on his or her daily outings.

All of our dog walkers are bonded and insured, trained and managed by our management team and are offered all of the benefits of being an employee in San Francisco.  This all ensures that you can have the peace of mind that your dog is in professional and caring hands.

Brian, Owner I decided to start Blue Dog over 5 years ago after searching high and low for a walker for my pup, Blue. When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to start my own company! Outside of work, you can find me skiing or just adventuring with Blue!

Claudia, Territory Manager I've always had an unconditional love for all animals and especially dogs. I grew up in a household of two to three dogs at a time and since moving to San Francisco for school I haven't been able to get a dog of my own since I'm always on the go. Being able to combine work, my passion for dogs and love for the outdoors there was no way I could say no. Working with Blue Dog I not only find I have something to give to each dog but I also get something as well- pure happiness. I have a happy heart and a happy soul when I'm around my pups!

Denise, Assistant Manager My love for animals started at a very early age. I always felt sympathetic to their needs because we are their voice, and I have always felt a special connection to dogs. Growing up, one could find me reading the encyclopedia and books on dogs until my parents finally got me one (my beloved dachshund Stimpy). After always longing to work with animals, I have finally made the switch and bring over 12 years of customer service. As a self proclaimed dog lady, I'm thrilled to be connected to such a caring and awesome team at Blue Dog!

Milda M. I've loved animals since I was a baby. At the age of 2, and being very jealous that my baby brother was born, I ran away and was found down the road hanging out with a group of stray dogs. I have a strong connection with cats and dogs. I absolutely love them and care so much about the dogs I walk for Blue Dog. I'm like their Aunty Milda and they love me too. Walking dogs is the perfect balance to my other life. When not with the pups, I'm either teaching violin/viola lessons or practicing my viola. I have two degrees in music from Biola University and Pennsylvania State University. I am a freelance violist and private violin/viola teacher performing and teaching here in the Bay Area. Walking dogs provides a nice contrast to my musical life.

Alex M. I have been around hunting dogs my whole life. I never had a dog of my own while growing up. My parents thought it would be too much responsibility. Although that did not deter me from getting one. I have always been guilty of fawning over all the canines I walks by. I moved to San Francisco in 2010 and that is also when I got my first fur baby. I love all canines, big or small. I especially love the work I do with Blue Dog! I get to work with different dogs and also have time to go back to my own fur babies! I am currently saving money to become a dog trainer. I constantly try to learn new tricks and canine behavior! As I always say. Do what you love and love what you do!

Laura G. I've always known working with animals was my calling. Growing up in the amazons, I had a pitbull boxer mixed named Chakira, and she was the best adventure buddy anyone could ask for. Since then, I just knew I wanted to interact with animals on an everyday basis. Getting to bond and walk with pups every day is a blessing; I'm very happy to be a part of their lives and to give them all the lovings they deserve.

Brandi W. Greetings! My name is Brandi Woods. I have grown up with dogs my whole life. When I was about five years old, my parents promised that if I got good grades, they would let me have a puppy. From then on, I aced every exam and did plenty of extra credit until we adopted a runt of a cocker spaniel. I was hooked! I always offer to petsit for my friends; I have come to love their dogs as my own. I am absolutely dedicated to giving every pup a wonderful walking experience. In my heart, I know that your dog is more than a pet, they are your family. I was taught to always take care of your family

Alena J. I have been an animal lover all my life, from the zoo of pets living in my home since I was a child, to patrolling the beaches of Costa Rica at night for sea turtle conservation in college. I've always had a special love for dogs, and have had Huskies, a Chow Chow, and an American Eskimo dog as part of my family. I've also worked with dog rescues fostering dogs and helping with shelter care and adoptions, and even took a gap year to experience the rush of dog sledding in the deep Canadian winter. While my home is now predominately a cat haven, I'm so grateful to get my dog time with Blue Dog, sharing joy and fun with the wonderful pets of my gorgeous city San Francisco.

Ris W. I've had a deep connection with dogs from a very young age. Growing up in the rural parts of Virginia, they were my closest friends. Pups offer me a deep sense of belonging, unconditional acceptance and love due to their empathetic nature. I like to refer to our furry friends as "tangible happiness" as I can't help but bubble with happiness at the sight of them. You can rest assured that your pup will receive all of the attention, and then some during our time together! My daily goal is to earn the trust of as many dogs as possible throughout the city. That said, the best compliment I could receive is that of "wow, my dog never opens up like this to strangers!" I plan to build a relationship based on trust and happiness with your dogs to ensure a comfortable, enjoyable time exploring their territories. Each pup has their own personality and preferences, learning these is key to getting on their good side! I am prepared and eager to offer my patience, time, and love to your pups throughout their days in my company.

Gabby I grew up around animals of all sizes in Virginia. So you could say my love of animals started very young. I especially loved my dogs growing up, I had several dogs through out my life, all ranging from small to large, and I was always struck by how caring, loving, and unconditionally loyal these animals were towards me. I guess you could say that I got into dog walking to pay back some of the love and care these animals showed me to someone else's pups. I truly believe these animals become part of our family so I would like to know that someone passionate, kind, patient, and loving was in charge of my pup and this would put my mind at peace. That is my ultimate goal as a dogwalker, giving that peace of mind to our clients and giving all my love and care to the pups!

Dianna I'm an Oakland native who has grown up with dogs my entire life. I currently own two Chihuahuas that I adore. I chose Blue Dog because meeting any type of dog excites me. I'm always eager to walk my dogs or any new dog and explore San Francisco with them.

Darryl Hiya! Welcome to my bio! I'm Darryl and it's a pleasure to have you read my story... Here we go! I moved to San Francisco in 2001 for college and I knew right away it was where I wanted to be as its wide range of cultural and social events, career opportunities and sites to see are more or less unparalleled. I grew up in San Diego with a wholesome Midwestern family and we had many dogs as pets. I've been around dogs my whole life and have encountered various breeds, behaviors, and coaching styles which has helped me in my pursuit of being a trusted dog walker. I have walked and given shelter to dogs as a part time job for approximately five years. I chose to do so originally as a hobby but because my passion grew dogs and puppies are now my fulltime endeavor. The fun times and even the challenging moments are all apart of the fun of being able to help make a puppy's day. Every day is a different adventure for every puppy and leading the way so to speak is a great joy for me! I'm also the very proud doggy dad of a 9 year old Staffordshire Terrier named Bill who I've had since he was 8 weeks old. He is a treasure chest of fun! We go on runs and hikes around the city and I would wager he knows San Francisco as well as I do if not better. Fun times. Well I hope all is fantastic and I look forward to meeting you all. Thanks for reading!

Colin M. Hello my name is Colin Mitchell and I love animals especially dogs. I worked with dogs for many years at a grooming salon that I recently left to pursue other interests. Over the years I have learned many things about dogs and their behaviors such as telltale signs about how they are feeling and how to deal with them. I also have an Australian Shepherd named Sandi that I have cared for for 13 years! She is still alive, healthy and not slowing down anytime soon. I decided that dog walking would be a great fit because I love the outdoors and animals. I have always enjoyed walking around the city, so having a canine companion is just an extra bonus for me. Working with animals has always been a great passion of mine and I am very grateful that I now have job in this field.

Ian G. I have been an animal lover my entire life, and have had the privilege of working professionally with them for almost a decade. I began my animal welfare and behavior career at the Maryland SPCA in Baltimore, Maryland in 2007. I moved to San Francisco in 2010 to work at the San Francisco SPCA, where I was Feline Care Coordinator, Adoption Intake Supervisor, and Veterinary Behavior Doctor Assistant. My experience working in shelter and clinical animal behavior has given me the ability to read and appropriately respond to dogs’ emotional states through their body language and behaviors. When I’m not having a blast with your pups around San Francisco, I am the humble servant of 5 cats and a Napoleonic dog named Star Fox, who graciously allow me to share their home and a small section of the bed.

Sam F. Who wouldn’t want to spend the day with human’s Best Friend? Seeing dogs each day makes me just as happy as them seeing me. Loving, caring, and loyal animals like dogs make us all better people, in my opinion! We all need to give dogs that love back in return — because they all deserve it. This job allows for me to do just that. I want to show these loving souls another

Christopher Growing up in South Africa, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by all sorts of dogs, including a wolf-dog! The wolf-dog (Shakira) was best friends with our Golden Retriever (Prince), and she was absolutely terrified and bullied by Strawberry, a very old and tiny Maltese Poodle, who ran the household. Growing up around dogs taught me about the strong bond between us and them, that they truly are part of the family, and must be treated as so. I decided to become a Blue Dog walker because I get to walk for hours outdoors every day while getting to be around some pretty amazing animals!

Viki L. “ I love dogs!” is not good enough to describe how much passion I have for them. I’m fascinated by their beautiful features, intelligence, and loyalty. I used to work at a dog daycare to handle up to thirty large size dogs at a time, supervised them in a safe environment. Thus, I’m very good at decoding canine body language. I’m a part time Dog Trainer. I have years of experience on how to properly handle any dogs with different sizes, different ages, different energy level. Dog walking is one of the most effective ways to bond with them. A lot of dogs with behavioral issues get surrendered at shelters or get euthanized because they don’t get enough physical and mental exercise to release their energy. A good walk not only can provide them daily exercise physically but also stimulate their mind mentally in order to prevent/solve a lot of unwanted behavioral problems. I really love Blue Dog because we don’t walk a big pack of dogs at once, so we can give every dog enough attention.

Jonathan H. I’ve been an “animal person” all my life - I’ll always hone in on the dog at the dinner party, always notice the cat in a sunny second floor window. There is just something special and pure about their unconditional love that is so heartwarming and inspiring! It was a natural choice to work with animals, first at the SPCA as a feline care attendant, later at Pets Unlimited as a feline adoptions facilitator, dog walker and socializer. It’s a privilege to attend to your beloved companions with the same joy, affection and attentive care that you give them.
