Blue Dog started over 5 years ago with the goal of creating a professional and accountable dog walking company. We provide your dog with daily exercise in a safe and healthy environment.  All of our walks are on-leash and in small packs of three or fewer dogs. We believe that you should be given peace of mind when your pup leaves the house each day; that is why we use PetCheck, an all-in-one tool to schedule and track your dog's walks. Real time email notifications are sent every time your dog is picked up and dropped off and you can peruse the GPS-tracked map to determine where your dog went on his or her daily outings.

All of our dog walkers are bonded and insured, trained and managed by our management team and are offered all of the benefits of being an employee in San Francisco.  This all ensures that you can have the peace of mind that your dog is in professional and caring hands.

Brian, Owner I decided to start Blue Dog over 5 years ago after searching high and low for a walker for my pup, Blue. When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to start my own company! Outside of work, you can find me skiing or just adventuring with Blue!

Denise, Assistant Manager My love for animals started at a very early age. I always felt sympathetic to their needs because we are their voice, and I have always felt a special connection to dogs. Growing up, one could find me reading the encyclopedia and books on dogs until my parents finally got me one (my beloved dachshund Stimpy). After always longing to work with animals, I have finally made the switch and bring over 12 years of customer service. As a self proclaimed dog lady, I'm thrilled to be connected to such a caring and awesome team at Blue Dog!

Claudia, Territory Manager I've always had an unconditional love for all animals and especially dogs. I grew up in a household of two to three dogs at a time and since moving to San Francisco for school I haven't been able to get a dog of my own since I'm always on the go. Being able to combine work, my passion for dogs and love for the outdoors there was no way I could say no. Working with Blue Dog I not only find I have something to give to each dog but I also get something as well- pure happiness. I have a happy heart and a happy soul when I'm around my pups!

Leilani R., Assistant Manager I moved out to San Francisco from Denver, Colorado in 2013. I am a performer, dancer, and musician. From having a few dogs growing up, to working in the dog industry, my love for the fur babies is ever growing. I am truly passionate for all creatures, especially canine companions, and getting a chance to enjoy the outdoors with the pups is a simple pleasure that I am beyond grateful for. Being a dog walker fits my whole lifestyle, and it doesn't hurt that I make new furry friends along the way.

Jae, Territory Manager I grew up surrounded by dogs, my mom had a soft spot for them. From the time I was born till I left home, we cared for over 25, from 7lbs to 160lbs. Many rescues, some fosters that that dug their way into our hearts and stayed, and others that just came into our lives in one way or another. Being raised in a household of pups has made me very in tune to their behaviors and emotions, which comes in handy for this profession! Sadly my apartment doesn't allow dogs, so I turned to dog walking to fill the furry place in my heart.

Alexandra B., Assistant Manager I'm passionate about all animals, whether they are furry, feathery, or scaly, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart. Much to my mom's chagrin, my first word as a baby wasn't "mama", but instead "bow wow". Over the course of my life, I've had the honor of being a playmate to some mutts, generations of golden retrievers, and a wolfdog-German shepherd mix named Lobo. After living in SF for two years, my family dog made the trek from my native Tennessee to come live with me during the summer of 2016. While my thirteen year old Yorkie is the only pup that lives with me, I treat every dog I meet like they are my own: giving them as much love and care as they need. It’s truly my pleasure to care for your pups while we’re out exploring the city. I’m as happy to see them as they are to see me!

Emily M. You could say my entire life has been characterized by the need to be with animals (dogs in particular).  I wanted a dog of my own so badly I drove my parents crazy by asking for one everyday for nearly 8 years until they finally gave in and brought home Molly, my first ever pup.  Before that I remember going up to neighbors offering (ahem, “begging") to walk their dogs for free just so I could be with them. Years later and states away from my childhood home and beloved pets, I feel a void in my life and a gaping hole in my heart that only a furry companion can fill.  Since I haven’t been able to have my own dog where I have lived since moving to the Bay Area, I have been pet sitting and walking to compensate.  I couldn’t be happier to be with Blue Dog SF, doing just what I love and spending my days with the best four-legged, furry people on the planet!

Katie I have had an absolute love for dogs since a very young age when my family and I adopted our beloved black Labrador, Abby, when I was four years old. She lived 16 long, amazing years with us and my family and I currently have our beautiful yellow Labrador, Bailey, whom we adopted at eight weeks old. Whether it be my own dogs, my neighbors’, friends’, or random dogs on the street, I love them all! Blue Dog enables me to make the customers and dogs happy by walking their dogs around a beautiful city. Additionally, this job puts a huge smile on my face because I am able to be around all of these amazing dogs each day! :)

Pimchan K. My love for dogs and passion for working with them came unexpectedly and later in life. I grew up with dogs around the house but it wasn't until I started volunteering at the SF SPCA did I realize what amazing creatures they are! They've taught me so much just by being themselves - live life in the moment and have fun, and it's refreshing to roll down the car window and feel the breeze! I'm excited to have been welcomed to join the Blue Dog SF team. I get to combine walking around the city that I was born and raised in with spending time with adorable dogs!

Gabby I grew up around animals of all sizes in Virginia. So you could say my love of animals started very young. I especially loved my dogs growing up, I had several dogs through out my life, all ranging from small to large, and I was always struck by how caring, loving, and unconditionally loyal these animals were towards me. I guess you could say that I got into dog walking to pay back some of the love and care these animals showed me to someone else's pups. I truly believe these animals become part of our family so I would like to know that someone passionate, kind, patient, and loving was in charge of my pup and this would put my mind at peace. That is my ultimate goal as a dogwalker, giving that peace of mind to our clients and giving all my love and care to the pups!

Tiffany L. I’ve never known a life without my dogs. My family has always had dogs ever since I was little, we started out with an Australian Shepherd mix and a Great Dane. They were buddies for life and due to our extremely active family both had lived quite long especially our Great Dane reaching about 13 or so. Their names were Klyde and Danny. After they passed away our family went on to own another Great Dane Irish Wolfhound mix, a big teddy bear of a dog named Jake and of course a little buddy named Max. Max was a Vizsla a Hungarian sports dog of the sorts which was fitting for our Hungarian family my dad growing up in Budapest. We took our dogs with us everywhere they were just as much apart of our family as I was. I can honestly say I don’t have a memory without it having one of our dogs in it. Now my family owns a little baby Vizsla named Ziggy and I have my own little buddy named Ben who came to me as a little adopted pup in 2007. Ben now being my old baby but still cuter than ever has made my love, compassion and admiration for these wonderful companions continue to grow as I am alway looking forward to my next doggie adventure.

Milda M. I've loved animals since I was a baby. At the age of 2, and being very jealous that my baby brother was born, I ran away and was found down the road hanging out with a group of stray dogs. I have a strong connection with cats and dogs. I absolutely love them and care so much about the dogs I walk for Blue Dog. I'm like their Aunty Milda and they love me too. Walking dogs is the perfect balance to my other life. When not with the pups, I'm either teaching violin/viola lessons or practicing my viola. I have two degrees in music from Biola University and Pennsylvania State University. I am a freelance violist and private violin/viola teacher performing and teaching here in the Bay Area. Walking dogs provides a nice contrast to my musical life.

Rebekah F. My family had dogs while I was growing up, and I've always loved animals of all kinds. But sadly, I've been unable to get my own pet since I've been in San Francisco. I love the city, love animals, and love being outside, so I'm really excited to get to work with all the pups at Blue Dog!

Dianna I'm an Oakland native who has grown up with dogs my entire life. I currently own two Chihuahuas that I adore. I chose Blue Dog because meeting any type of dog excites me. I'm always eager to walk my dogs or any new dog and explore San Francisco with them.

David W. Growing up in Colorado I was raised to respect and appreciate the outdoors and all animal life. I have a soft spot for dogs and have spent more than half my life around them, rescuing quite a few. Having lived in the Bay Area over 2 decades, I can appreciate the needs of city dogs and their owners. I feel being a dog walker is not only a great job, but a great act of kindness and compassion -  watching over as the dog gets to explore safely, while the owner has peace of mind. I recently switched careers and walking with Blue Dog lets me enjoy my job, utilize my free time to explore other avenues, and return to school. I look forward to every day I work and every dog; their enthusiasm and happiness is contagious! When not walking dogs for Blue Dog, you will find me continuing my education, appreciating architecture, or maybe thrift shopping - but always taking photographs.

Christopher Growing up in South Africa, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by all sorts of dogs, including a wolf-dog! The wolf-dog (Shakira) was best friends with our Golden Retriever (Prince), and she was absolutely terrified and bullied by Strawberry, a very old and tiny Maltese Poodle, who ran the household. Growing up around dogs taught me about the strong bond between us and them, that they truly are part of the family, and must be treated as so. I decided to become a Blue Dog walker because I get to walk for hours outdoors every day while getting to be around some pretty amazing animals!

Ian G. I have been an animal lover my entire life, and have had the privilege of working professionally with them for almost a decade. I began my animal welfare and behavior career at the Maryland SPCA in Baltimore, Maryland in 2007. I moved to San Francisco in 2010 to work at the San Francisco SPCA, where I was Feline Care Coordinator, Adoption Intake Supervisor, and Veterinary Behavior Doctor Assistant. My experience working in shelter and clinical animal behavior has given me the ability to read and appropriately respond to dogs’ emotional states through their body language and behaviors. When I’m not having a blast with your pups around San Francisco, I am the humble servant of 5 cats and a Napoleonic dog named Star Fox, who graciously allow me to share their home and a small section of the bed.

Shannon B. I’ve always loved animals and was lucky to grow up with a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, mice, rabbits, hamsters and fish! After moving from the suburbs outside of Chicago to San Francisco to start my Master’s degree three years ago, I’ve gone through serious dog withdrawals, never being able to adopt a dog myself (though in 2014 I adopted a chinchilla, who is the cutest fluff ball out there!). I can’t wait to go to work and be greeted by wagging tails and puppy smiles. I’m so excited to explore the city with the cutest walking buddies I’ll ever have!

Bead I grew up in Minnesota with a little black schnoodle, Phoebe. She was always my favorite member of the family, and I was heartbroken when I had to move away from her for college. When I came to San Francisco for grad school, I was lucky enough to find a house in which I could coexist with two cats and a husky. I'm excited to be working for Blue Dog because it means I get to spend my days outdoors and with animals, two of my favorite things, and make many more furry friends.

Evan I was born and raised here in the Bay Area. A first generation American on my father’s side and a second generation on my mother’s. Every since I was a child I have been around and loved animals. With my family owning dogs, cats, birds, fish, turtles and other small animals. Unfortunately living in an apartment I haven’t been able to own an animal of my own for quit some time. I have missed the interaction, affection and joy that owning an animal provides. Seeing all the dogs playing at Dolores park made want to have a dog for myself.  I started looking online to see if I could find some way to be outside in this beautiful city and interact with dogs at the same time. Now being with Blue Dog I get the best of both worlds. I get to meet new and friendly dogs, while walking through the unique neighborhoods that only San Francisco has. I am excited to meet new clients and dogs while providing happy, enriching and enthusiastic walks both me and the dogs to enjoy.
